Epworth Children’s Village in Lambton, Germiston, Gauteng is home to 65 abused, abandoned and/or orphaned children between the ages of 4 and 18 years old who are placed with us by court order.
Although the majority of our children are in government schools, we quite often have problems getting new admissions into schools due to them seldom or never attending school. Whilst waiting for LSEN numbers for these children, they often miss a lot more schooling.
I believe if we home schooled them, with the individual attention they will have a better chance at progressing.
Please can you advise us on how to register for home schooling?
Many thanks for your time

Answer to Homeschooling Orphans
Homeschooling orphans is definitely possible as there are other ophanages who do so, however, the legalities of this special situation are beyond the scope of our service and experience. You will need to establish a private learning centre.
Please contact Mr Leendert van Oostrum of the Pestalozzi Trust (homeschool legal defence association) who is better qualified to answer your query and can advise you regarding the procedure you need to follow.
You can reach him on Tel 012-3301337
