Book a private homeschool consultation with Wendy Young
When you start out on your home education journey you could find yourself in one of these situations:
Overwhelmed by the curriculum choices
Unsure of how to begin
Needing “how to” help
Or if you have been home educating your children for a while you may need input for high school, school leaving or unmotivated children for example.
Perhaps your children have specific needs due to neurodiversity like Aspergers (ASD), sensory issues, demand avoidance or learning difficulties like Dyslexia, ADHD or Apraxia.
After homeschooling my own children all the way for more than 20 years I have either experienced these challenges myself or counseled parents in those positions.
If you find yourself in any of these situations, I can help!
“We started our Footprints journey this year. We appreciated that Wendy Young took the time to consult with us, thoroughly assessing our personal situation and circumstances with regards to home schooling our children. With her vast personal experience of home schooling, she gave us practical advice on how to support and encourage our children to get the most out of the curriculum. “

Customer Testimonials
“As it is the first time that we have a child following the Cambridge homeschool Curriculum, I did not have clarity regarding the “Matric conversion requirements” and the importance of our child’s subject choices. Mrs Young was very professional, patient and knowledgeable regarding Cambridge homeschool system. She answered all the various questions that was on my mind in depth. We really appreciated her comprehensive follow-up email with relevant subject choice suggestions and other information re further studies. It really reduce my anxiousness and helped us move forward. I would recommend Wendy anytime for a consultation, should you have the need for it.”

“My 16 year old son has great difficulty in relating to people and very limited interest in school subjects which has made schooling near impossible! We have tried main stream, Montessori approach, homeschooling at a centre…. all of which failed. I saw Wendy’s name come up in a parent discussion on Facebook and thought I would reach out as a last resort. I was completely relieved to sit with a mom who completely understood our struggle. She not only had her own advice to give but also had loads of knowledge and resources to share. I am most grateful to Wendy for taking the time and pointing us in the right direction. “

“I am homeschooling my two youngest boys, aged 16 and 14, and had been doing so for 3 years, when I decided to meet with Wendy to clarify the way forward with regards to honing down the subjects, finding the relevant resources, and dealing with challenges with a very inattentive, unmotivated teenager. It was great, and I cannot recommend her enough. Very often, when you’re in the ‘trenches’ you cannot see objectively, and she was able to confirm or guide the choices I was considering. It is invaluable to get advice from someone whose family has not only survived (! we all have those days) but THRIVED in homeschooling. All that we chatted about, she noted down and sent back to me in point form, broken down in time segments, with goals outlined, resources provided and clarity given. Brilliant! Highly recommend!”

“We had been thinking of homeschooling our children for a while, but when we were thrust into it, it was a different story to what I’d imagined. Our school was very organised in terms of sending work through for the kids, but I wasn’t coping with three of them in different grades, and work coming through on different platforms and had to make a plan to reach sanity quickly. I really appreciated our zoom meeting – you immediately answered so many of my questions in terms of what I could do (they will possibly still return to mainstream schooling so we need to keep that in the back of our minds as well), how to structure the day, how to work with the different ages and a myriad of other questions I had.
Your swift follow up email, pertaining to information we had discussed, as well as the full zoom recording really made me feel that this is something we can do!
Thank you – we are still finding our feet, but feeling so much calmer about all of it, and really looking forward to the rest of this year!”

“Thank you for the time you invested in sharing your experience and knowledge with me. Your feedback gave me confirmation for many choices I was making. The first piece of advice that stood out for me was when you suggested I step back from a situation and ask myself is my child struggling with understanding a concept or is it a bad attitude I am dealing with. This is the beauty of homeschooling, where we can slow down and work together to cross any bridges.
Secondly, when you sent your breakdown of hoops to jump to reach the end goal you had added “learners licence at 17”, this small addition was a reminder that although we can move slowly we have still got to keep going as there will be milestones the child will want to achieve.
Lastly, you suggested I keep a progress journal so we could keep track of our family’s growth which helps keep us confident with our journey without having to worry about what everyone else is achieving.
So again I wish to thank you for your willingness to share your ideas and many years of experience.”

“Thank you for assisting us when we needed. The hour long consultation provided a lot of practical relevant info and the summary and recommendations made a world of difference. We would have not made it as smoothly as did without your expertise. At this moment our daughter is following the programme as per your recommendation and things go really smoothly. Thank you again and we will be in touch. Having an expert to reach out to, made all the difference.”

“After 6 years of homeschooling, using Apologia , LLATLand Footprints on our land, my daughter decided to pursue Cambridge IGCSE¹s . My daughter is very creative, loves languages and we needed assistance with her choice of subjects and her Matric Cambridge conversion requirements for university entrance both local and international.
Wendy was able to guide us and help us with a holistic 3 year plan that will enable my daughter to pursue her passion for languages, i.e. English, Afrikaans , Spanish and French ( IGCSE¹s and AS) but also incorporating her love for creativity and factoring it into her daily routine.
Wendy also provided various contacts for external tutoring support, should we require it.
Amy-Joy is no longer feeling anxious about her Cambridge journey but rather she feels empowered, determined and focused about the journey ahead as she has a 3 year plan.”
